Sony’s latest solution to playing shooters with a gamepad

Sony's latest solution to playing shooters with a gamepad

Maybe there are some people out there who still haven’t adjusted to using a gamepad to play a shooter. Sony hopes to help them when Killzone 3 comes out. And, hey, maybe sell a few more of those Move things while they’re at it! The Playstation Move Sharp Shooter (pictured) is apparently hard to resist.

We know that some of you gamers might be a bit hesitant to put down the gamepad, but we believe the upcoming PlayStation Move sharp shooter will make motion control for shooter games quite irresistible. Available concurrently with the highly anticipated Killzone 3 in Feb 2011 for $39.99 (MSRP), the sharp shooter is perfect for gamers who want to experience the most realistic action possible.

It even comes with Killzone and SOCOM stickers so you can make it look less like something that belongs with your Wii doo-dads.

Dune Wars: Welcome to Arrakis, donut planet

Dune Wars: Welcome to Arrakis, donut planet

In Dune Wars, if you keep moving in one direction, you will hit the edge of the map. What gives? What kind of lousy Civilization IV map doesn’t wrap around like a regular globe? The answer is a map that takes place on only one hemisphere.

After the jump, sometimes half a planet is plenty

A new car for you in post-apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth?

A new car for you in post-apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth?

If playing an MMO version of Fallout 3 isn’t enough of a reason to play Fallen Earth, then how about the chance to win stuff? If you sign up here, between now and January 7th, every time you log onto Fallen Earth, your name is entered into a drawing for loot. It includes ingame stuff, like that Interceptor up there, as well as out-of-game stuff like a new PC or an iPhone. And since you can go here for a free 30-day trail, the only thing you’re sacrificing is time you might have spent playing World of Warcraft.

(Thanks Maenad!)

Five great indie games are as cheap as you want them to be

Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans. How much would you pay for these five indie games? No, really. How much? It’s not a rhetorical question, because you can have them for whatever price you want to pay. The going rate would be $84 if you bought them separately. But now you can go here and name your own price. What’s more, you can jigger a set of sliders to divide split the money you paid with the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play. You can even set it up as a gift, so it’s technically considered getting some of your Christmas shopping done.

This is the second bundle deal in a group initiative called the Humble Indie Bundle. And even if you’re not interested in each of the games — I mean, come on, who hasn’t bought Braid already? — it’s a great deal for the ones you don’t have.

Ten games you should have played in 2010

Ten games you should have played in 2010

You’re a jerk because you didn’t play any of the following great games. Okay, maybe you played one or two. Big whoop, what about the other nine or eight? I’m still disappointed in you.

Each of these gems deserved more attention in 2010 than it got. And it’s your fault, because you were probably playing one of the games from yesterday’s list. I hope you’re happy. Or, more to the point, I hope I’ve guilted you into trying some of the games I’m about to tell you about.
