Sky, Pantech & Curitel’s sub-brand, has just rolled out the Check Mate IM-S610K clamshell phone, where it will features a 2.6 240×320 main display and an external display for showing time, phone status and animations, a 2 Megapixel camera, built-in DMB support and IrDA connectivity. No idea on pricing, but you can purchase the Pantech Check Mate IM-S610K in White, Titan, Red or Gold colors.

HTC Hero Receives Android 2.1 Update

HTC has recently confirmed that they will upgrade the HTC Hero with the new Android 2.1 OS on April 16th, 2010. In case you didn’t know, the HTC Hero features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 resolution, a 5MP autofocus camera, HTC’s latest Sense UI, an accelerometer sensor, GPS, WiFi and supports HSDPA connectivity. Sprint sells this handset for $179 with a new 2-year contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate. [GSM Dome]
Meizu Releases M8 Firmware Update

The Meizu M8 is also known as the “Chinese iPhone†because it has a similar design with the iPhone. Meizu has recently released the final firmware version for this handset. The new firmware claims to improve stability, have better English, and emulate Windows Mobile 6 apps. Measuring 108mm x 59mm x 12mm, the Meizu M8 is powered by the Samsung ARM11 667 MHz CPU, a 3.4-inch (720 x 480 pixel) LTPS TFT LCD with multitouch (2 points).
