She’s dating NHL stud Mike Comrie, and has a host of successful films and albums under her belt. And now Hilary Duff is stretching herself beyond where she’s ever been in the dramedy “Greta.”
The Lizzie McGuire actress grabbed the title role in the new movie, directed by Nancy Bardawil. She plays a waitress who develops a crush on one of the cooks in the kitchen. And romance is the recipe for this film. “Greta” deals with breaking all kinds of societal norms. First of all, Hilary’s character is a white girl, while the recipient of her affection, played by Evan Ross, is of African American descent.
According to a source, “After she falls for him, the couple’s little summer romance runs into a brick wall called her grandparents, played by veteran actors Ellen Burstyn and Michael Murphy. Apparently, the folks aren’t too happy about the cook’s criminal past.”
“Greta” is currently filming in New Jersey. And from the looks of a soaked Hilary, it’s on the shore.
