Here’s something you’re going to want to put on your Christmas list, kiddies. Logitech has just released its Pure-Fi Elite speaker system for iPods, which transforms your music player into a high-performance audio system. The Pure-Fi also includes an integrated digital AM/FM radio tuner (just make sure to put up the antenna, as I discovered it doesn’t work without it.)

Yeah, that’s all good but how does it sound? With two-way satellites, 1-inch dome tweeters and 4-inch high-power, and “long-throw woofers,” this baby offers great clarity, solid bass, clear sound separation plus digital EQ and filtering, in a sleek, black package.

Since the digital clock lights up in the dark and has an easily programmable sleep function, it has replaced my alarm clock, and I sleep better knowing it doubles as an iPod charger

Comes with a nifty backlighted wireless remote so you can control and browse your iPod from anywhere in the room. For us lazy folks, there’s one-touch access to Shuffle and Repeat.

One of my favorite features is the presets for iPod playlists; no more scrolling through your playlists.

$129 at Amazon. And for those of you who’ve been “nice” this year, we’ll be giving one away for the holidays so make sure you’re on Santa’s list (otherwise known as our newsletter).
