Barnes & Noble might be feeling the heat from Amazon’s $200 Kindle Fire. Although its Nook Tablet is more powerful than the Kindle Fire in virtually every way, it still costs $50 more. A new Nook Tablet with less storage and a lower price tag could make it more competitive with the Kindle Fire.

We all knew the Kindle Fire was a sought after commodity with its combination of having a low price compared to other tablets and a feature-rich experience for its users. And now the numbers are in, and indeed, the Kindle Fire was a success since it was introduced last year as it dislodged Samsung for the most number of tablet sales in the last quarter.

Spark Linux Tablet Goes Up For Pre-order

Some of our readers will remember the Spark Linux tablet that was announced recently, the device is expected to retail for $265, and it is now available to pre-order.
The Spark tablets is expected to start shipping in May, and it will come with a 1 GHz AMLogic ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, supported by 512MB RAM and Mali 400 graphics powering its 7 inch, 800 x 480 pixel capacitive multi-touch touchscreen display.
